Don't get me wrong, I love making recipes from scratch. Sometimes though, I get a little lazy. I just want to throw a few ingredients together and call it a day. This is a recipe for when that occurs. Quick, simple, and straightforward, these Apple Danishes only require 5 simple, everyday ingredients. It's also a small batch recipe (4 Apple Danishes total) so it's perfect for when you're craving a homemade pastry but don't want to make a full dozen.

Why you will LOVE this recipe:

    • Only 5 ingredients required
    • Small batch recipe
    • Simple, everyday ingredients
    • Soft, fluffy danishes
    • Great to use for leftover apple pie filling
    • Apples + Cinnamon + Glaze. YUM.
    • Umm...who doesn't love a good pastry!?

    Main Ingredients Needed

Apples - I've found that Fuji or Granny Smith work great for danishes!

Butter - Adds flavour, helpful when baking, and allows for the cinnamon sugar to really get in there!

Cinnamon & Sugar - I don't think this needs an explanation...literally one of the best combinations out there. Let's not forget how lovely cinnamon and apple pair together!

Crescent Dough - The main reason this recipe is so straight forward is because we are using store-bought crescent dough! No hustles and stress of making our own dough today. I used the Pillsbury crescent dough, in a pack of 8. You're going to use two 'crescents' per danish, so this is a small batch recipe of 4 danishes total.

    Ingredients

    Apple Danishes

    • 1 tube Crescent Dough I used Pillsbury, 8 pack
    • 1/3 can apple pie filling
    • 1 tbsp butter, melted
    • 1 tbsp white sugar
    • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

    Glaze (Optional)

    • 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 1/2 tsps milk You can continue to add in 1/2 tsps until the consistency is right for your personal preference

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350°F
    • Separate the crescent roll dough into eight rectangles (2 of the crescents make one danish)
    • Coat each rectangle with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar
    • Roll the dough up long side (see video above for better visual if confused), making coil-like shapes
    • Press each coil down to make room for the filling, and fill with apple pie filling. Do not fill above dough or else it will spill over while baking
    • Sprinkle with extra cinnamon sugar
    • Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown
    • Allow to slightly cool while the glaze is made (optional). Combine powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk into bowl and mix until combined.
    • Drizzle glaze. Serving fresh out the oven and warm is my favourite!
    • Enjoy!
