Easy can't even begin to describe how these bars are. With only 3 ingredients required, this is a fool proof recipe you'll find yourself making all the time.

These are chewy oat bars full of peanut butter flavour. They come together so quickly you'll be shocked.

The best part is that you can meal prep ahead of time for your week! Let's get to making them!

    Ingredients Notes

Here are the 3 ingredients needed for these oat bars

    • Maple syrup - Helps bind everything together. You can also use honey, agave syrup, or table syrup.
    • Oats - Rolled oats are used in this recipe for their hearty texture. These oats are also called old-fashioned or large-flake oats in some stores. Don't use quick oats, they are thin and the consistency will not turn out the same.
    • Peanut butter - I used a creamy peanut butter. You can also use a crunchy peanut butter or any other nut butter you like. Just make sure not to use natural peanut butter.

    Step by step instructions

Here is how to make and bake these 3 Ingredient No Bake Peanut Butter Oat Bars. You will need an 8x8 baking pan lined with parchment paper, a large mixing bowl, and a spatula.

Step 1 – Prep. Grease the pan. For easy removal of the bars, place parchment paper on the bottom and 2 sides of the pan. Gently grease the other two sides and then set aside.

Step 2 - Melt peanut butter and syrup. Using a microwave or the double boiler method, melt your peanut butter and syrup together until smooth. If using a microwave, melt in 20 second intervals and stir in between each time.

Step 3 - Add in oats. Add the rolled oats into the bowl and mix until evenly coated.

Step 4 - Transfer. Add the mixture into the prepared pan and press down very firmly using a sturdy object like a glass or a metal spatula. The bars have to be pressed down hard or else they will crumble when they are sliced.

Step 5 - Cool. Place into the refrigerator for 1 hour or until firm. You can also place it in the freezer to set faster.

Step 6 - Slice. Once set, slice however you'd like and enjoy! Keep the bars refrigerated in an airtight container when not eating.

These bars are so delicious and simple to make! They are a sweet treat you can enjoy any time of the day. The bars stay good for up to 7 days in an airtight container in the fridge.

    FAQ

Can I make this in a 9x9 pan?

Yes but they will be thinner.

Can I use crunchy peanut butter?

Yes! You can use any type of seed butter as long as it's not natural (must be creamy or crunchy).

    Can I add chocolate chips?

Yes feel free to add in whatever add-ins you'd like!

    Expert Baking Tips

Here are a few baking tips from my kitchen to yours!

    • Use a gram scale. I cannot emphasize this enough! It is the most accurate way of measuring your ingredients in the kitchen. This is one of my favourites.
    • Store them in the fridge. They can get soft at room temperature so keep them in a cooler place when not consuming!
    • Use rolled oats. Quick oats are smaller so the texture will be off, but they should still work if you need to use them.
