Instructions

  • Prep the 8x8 pan. For easy removal of the bars, place parchment paper on the bottom and 2 sides of the pan. Gently grease the other two sides and then set aside.
  • Using a microwave or the double boiler method, melt your peanut butter and syrup together until smooth. If using a microwave, melt in 20 second intervals and stir in between each time.
1 cup creamy peanut butter, 2/3 cups maple syrup*
  • Add the rolled oats into the bowl and mix until evenly coated.
    4 1/4 cups rolled oats
  • Add the mixture into the prepared pan and press down very firmly using a sturdy object like a glass or a metal spatula. The bars have to be pressed down firmly or else they will crumble when they are sliced.
  • Place into the refrigerator for 1 hour or until firm. You can also place it in the freezer to set faster.
  • Once set, slice however you'd like and enjoy! Keep the bars refrigerated in an airtight container when not eating.
  • These bars are so delicious and simple to make! They are a crunchy sweet treat you can enjoy any time of the day. The bars stay good for up to 7 days in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

Maple syrup - You can also use honey, agave, or table syrup (Like Aunt Jemima)
