I love how easy these are to make. I had some leftover Cheerios in my cupboard and thought why not make a no bake dessert.

These peanut butter Cheerio Bars are no bake and only require 4 ingredients. They are ready to go in under an hour!

Enjoy as a dessert, or an afternoon snack. It's great any time of the day!

    Ingredients Needed

Here are the 4 ingredients required for these Cheerio Bars.

    • Cheerios: I used the classic Honey Nut Cheerios. You can use any kind of flavour.
    • Maple syrup: You can use agave, honey, table syrup, or real maple syrup.
    • Oats: I used rolled oats. You can also use quick oats.
    • Peanut Butter: Creamy or crunchy peanut butter work. Do not use natural, it is to runny.
    • Nuts: This is optional, but I chopped up some peanuts and added them into the bars. It adds more peanut butter flavour and a bigger crunch! Any nuts work.

    Step by step instructions

Here is how to make these Cheerio Bars. You will need a 9×9 baking pan lined with parchment paper, a large mixing bowl, and a spatula.

Step 1: Melt the peanut butter and maple syrup. Add the peanut butter and maple syrup into a bowl and melt it together until smooth.

Step 2: Mix dry ingredients. In a large bowl, add the Cheerios, oats, and chopped up nuts. Stir to combine.

Step 3: Combine together. Add the melted mixture into the dry ingredients and mix with a spatula until evenly coated.

Step 4: Transfer. Press down firmly into the prepared baking pan. Place in the fridge to chill for 1 hour, or the freezer for 30 minutes. Then slice, and enjoy!

    FAQ

How do I store these bars?

They are best kept in the fridge in an airtight container. The bars stay good like this for up to 1 week!

    My bars fell apart?

This means that they were either not chilled long enough, or the ingredients were not measured correctly. Since this is a no bake recipe, it's crucial all 4 ingredients are measured accurately.
