Welcome to My Kitchen!
Hi! I'm Ania - I am the recipe developer, photographer, and videographer for Taffey Bakery! My blog is all about simple recipes with everyday ingredients. On my baking blog you'll find hundreds of sweet treat recipes that'll hopefully inspire you to create them with me!
How I got here
Growing up, I spent many weekends baking with my mama. Together, we made traditional Polish desserts for birthdays and family gatherings, along with treats like cupcakes and banana bread for school. It was during those moments with her that my love for baking truly began.
In 2014, at just 13 years old, I started my YouTube channel,ย SweetTreats. I remember begging my mom to let me create it so I could share my baking with others online. Even though she didnโt fully understand what I was getting into, she recognized how passionate I was and gave me her support (thanks mama!). Thatโs when I was able to bring together my love for both baking and videography.

Around the same time I started my channel, I also began babysitting for family friends and volunteering with youth at church. Through those experiences, I discovered a passion for working with kids and fell in love with the idea of becoming a teacher. After graduating high school, I decided to pursue an undergraduate degree in Childhood Education.
During the height of COVID, everything shut down, and in my third year of university, classes moved completely online. Like many others, I found myself stuck at home. I was still running my YouTube channel, but I felt like something was missing - I wanted more. Thatโs when I thought, why not start a food blog? It had always been in the back of my mind, and suddenly I had the time to give it a try.
I had absolutely no idea what I was doing at first. I vividly remember Googling, โHow do I open a website?โ - it all felt so unfamiliar. Thankfully, my boyfriend (now fiancรฉ) helped me get started, and little by little, I began building my site, sharing recipes, and teaching myself all the behind-the-scenes work along the way.
Fast-forward I graduated from university in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Childhood Education from the University of Guelph. At this point, I had a choice to either apply to teacher's college, or try to pursue blogging and make it into something bigger. Ultimately my passion made me decide not to go to teacher's college. I'm happy to write that I have been food blogging full-time ever since! Combining my passion for teaching with love for baking and photography has been a dream come true for me. If only my 14-year-old self who was filming on her iPod Touch in the kitchen could fast forward and see where we are today! This journey has been nothing short of amazing, and I feel incredibly blessed to share my passion for baking from my kitchen to yours.
All of my recipes have been tested in my own kitchen. They have photos underneath for easy-to-follow visual directions, so you can make them in your home too!
