Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line 2 sides of an 8×8 pan with parchment paper. Spray the other two sides with oil. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, add melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla, flour, rolled oats, salt, and baking powder. Mix until a soft dough forms.
1 cup butter, 3/4 cups brown sugar, 1 tbsp vanilla, 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 cups rolled oats, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Into your prepared pan, add 3/4's of the dough. Press down firmly into the bottom of your pan.
  • Scoop Nutella onto the base and spread into an even layer. Make sure there is about a 1-2 cm edge all around. This helps ensure your Nutella does not burn on the edges while baking.
    2/3 cups Nutella
  • Sprinkle the remainder crumble on top of the bars. It's ok if some Nutella is showing through.
  • Bake for 25-32 minutes. Mine took 32 minutes exactly. The bars will be a slight golden brown on the edge, that's when you know it's ready.
  • Remove from oven and allow to come to a complete cool before slicing. This will ensure that the bars won't slice messy. Speed up this process by placing them i the fridge.
  • Slice cooled bars and enjoy! Store on your countertop for a day, or in the fridge in an airtight container or bag for up to 5 days.
