Preheat the oven to 350℉/176℃. Line a 9x9 pan with parchment paper and set aside. Mash the bananas and set aside.
1 1/2 cups ripe bananas
In a medium-sized bowl, add the dry ingredients. Stir together and set aside.
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 1/2 cups rolled oats, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/4 tsp salt
In a large bowl, add the eggs, melted and slightly cooled butter, dark brown sugar, vanilla, milk, and mashed bananas. Continue whisking until combined. The mixture may be lumpy from the bananas and that is normal.
1/2 cup unsalted butter, 3/4 cups dark brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 3/4 cups milk, 1 tbsp vanilla, 1 1/2 cups ripe bananas
Add the dry ingredients into the wet. With a spatula, gently fold to create a soft chocolate batter. Don't over-mix!
Toss the chocolate chips in and mix a few times.
2/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Transfer into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top (optional).
Bake for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out dry. Mine took 38 minutes total. Allow it to cool, slice, and enjoy!
