Brown Butter Holiday M&M Cookie Bars
These brown butter cookie bars are chewy, loaded with flavour and sprinkled with flaky salt. A real crowd pleaser. It doesn't get better than this!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown butter view above paragraph for step-by-step to browning butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 tsps vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup M&Ms
Instructions
- Brown the butter (view step-by-step instructions in beginning of post on how to brown butter)
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Whisk together brown butter and sugars in a bowl
- Add in egg and vanilla and continue whisking
- Add in flour and baking soda and fold with a spatula until just combined
- Mix in chocolate chips and M&Ms
- Place into a 9x9 square pan that is lined with parchment paper or foil, and greased with oil
- Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown
- Remove from oven, allow to cool, and dig in!
